I worked in Normandy for 27 years; and then Calloway came. After working under her leadership for three years, I came to the shocking conclusion that Dr. Calloway should not work in any educational profession where teachers are employees and children are clients.

Now, some people would say that I'm just spewing rhetoric because of "sour grapes". Not true. I am one of the teachers who worked in Normandy School District that was scorned by Dr. Calloway. I was transferred from my building during the middle of the school year simply because I reported Dr. Calloway to our Board of Education members. She did not like that idea at all. My story gets pretty deep; and has required me to seek legal assistance -an attorney. If anyone would care to hear my story, just email me. I retired in June '06 because I did not want to be put in a position that could allow her to harass me any longer.

She also has a colorful story. I just don't understand why or how school districts continue hiring her with such a poor progress record from district to district. My opinion is that she appears to enjoy being bought out of her contracts. Wouldn't you?
I know so many people who have been hurt professionally by Calloway. I believe that she completely disrupted the good work that was happening in our school district. Our last superintendent worked hard in assisting staff and administration to reach success. Our score was 64 and we needed two more points to reach accreditation. So our slogan became 64 and 2 more. That score did not last long once Calloway arrive with all of her self-made practices. We were given t-shirts labeled "What about the children". We were forced to use the most craziest quote which was created by Calloway. Her special quote is "Becoming Most Excellent". Teachers, especially English teachers, thought that that quote was first of all grammatically incorrect and second was not worth the time we spent in the classrooms explaining her quote to the children. And finally, the children were forced to write essays titled "Becoming Most Excellent". That writing experience was a joke; but I believe it made her feel good. We were enslaved by Calloway for fear of losing our jobs. Again, my opinion is that she was ruthless. This is only part of my story. There is more.Contact me, and I will share.msblkwidowhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17781158062821507109noreply@blogger.com
