I disagree. The constitution explicitly gives the court the authority to interpret the laws as they apply to it. When Abington v. Schempp and Murray v. Curlett came before the Supreme Court, it certainly had the right to hear them and make a decision.

But, again, if you prefer to amend the Constitution and abolish the First Amendment, you are entitled to your opinion.

I am aware of the courts ruling re: school sponsored prayer. I do not believe it is the place for our courts to dictate whether or not a prayer group comprised of school students is legal or not. As long as the beliefs are not BEING forced upon other students...what is the problem? As far as being in a predominantly Muslim school...I've lived on Warren Ave & Greenfield...known as Arab-town, i have no problem or issue with the way our Muslim neighbors convey their religious beliefs. I'm intrigued by their dedication and therefore and prone and prodded to ask questions so that I may have a better understanding of their beliefs and not pontificate idiocy-based on prejudice.

I know who i am, and my foundation is firm. And the students who know who they are be it Christians, Muslims etc should have the same freedom of expression.

I would encourage you to further study the issue of prayer in schools. The courts have ruled only on school-sponsored prayer--personal prayer is a separate issue. This court ruling also protects Christians from feeling intimidated if a public school in a majority-Muslim neighborhood were to sponsor Quranic readings over the school's PA system. If, however, you support amending the Constitution to especially favor your specific religious denomination, you are entitled to your opinion.

That desire is not puzzling to those who realize the miracle working power of God. Prayer DOES need to be in school-how can it not be? As believers there will come a time in our lives where we will hae to serve God as ruler rather than men. If the courts told me I couldn't pray at work-do u honestly think I'd obey that law? Of course not. And as far as courts' ruling??...the California Supreme Court has ruled in FAVOR OF GAY MARRIAGE...PLEASE! Prayer should be an individual choice, not a choice that's been thrust upon us by the government.
