Curlett came before the Supreme Court, it certainly had the right to hear them and make a decision.

But, again, if you prefer to amend the Constitution and abolish the First Amendment, you are entitled to your opinion.Paulnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19127699.post-40482201601516919242008-06-24T10:40:00.000-07:002008-06-24T10:40:00.000-07:00Hi Paul,I am aware of the courts ruling re: school...Hi Paul,
I am aware of the courts ruling re: school sponsored prayer. I do not believe it is the place for our courts to dictate whether or not a prayer group comprised of school students is legal or not. As long as the beliefs are not BEING forced upon other students...what is the problem? As far as being in a predominantly Muslim school...I've lived on Warren Ave & Greenfield...known as Arab-town, i have no problem or issue with the way our Muslim neighbors convey their religious beliefs. I'm intrigued by their dedication and therefore and prone and prodded to ask questions so that I may have a better understanding of their beliefs and not pontificate idiocy-based on prejudice.

I know who i am, and my foundation is firm. And the students who know who they are be it Christians, Muslims etc should have the same freedom of expression.

if it makes one uncomfortable...THAT is a personal issueIVENTBYBLOGGINGhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12038261551531183506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19127699.post-46898290731781251762008-06-23T07:24:00.000-07:002008-06-23T07:24:00.000-07:00Bree,I would encourage you to further study the is...Bree,

I would encourage you to further study the issue of prayer in schools. The courts have ruled only on school-sponsored prayer--personal prayer is a separate issue. This court ruling also protects Christians from feeling intimidated if a public school in a majority-Muslim neighborhood were to sponsor Quranic readings over the school's PA system. If, however, you support amending the Constitution to especially favor your specific religious denomination, you are entitled to your opinion.

-PaulPaulnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19127699.post-20218668740066542952008-06-21T07:30:00.000-07:002008-06-21T07:30:00.000-07:00my email is: bmcrutchfield@gmail.com..thxmy email is: bmcrutchfield@gmail.com..thxIVENTBYBLOGGINGhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12038261551531183506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19127699.post-8685668226765356072008-06-21T07:29:00.000-07:002008-06-21T07:29:00.000-07:00Hi Akindele, I initially met you in Southfield at...Hi Akindele,
I initially met you in Southfield at China Gourmet along with James Davis. I'm very happy that you and James have established a wonderful friendship.
My question to you is, how can I become a part of The One Network?? I am an Urban Conservative as well, and I have yet to become a part of a legitmate conservative organization bcuz I did not feel connected to it. I do however, feel a connection with yours. James fwd me the ppt presentation for C Attucks Academy, as well as your websites-I've checked out bravehost, and blogspot, and I have since subscribed to MadWriter on YouTube (briabria37). Please contact me Akindele so that we may talk: Email Bree I look forward to our communication.

@Paul but your desire to see prayer in public schools is puzzling...the Federal courts have consistently ruled public-school-sponsored prayer to be unconstitutional.
That desire is not puzzling to those who realize the miracle working power of God. Prayer DOES need to be in school-how can it not be? As believers there will come a time in our lives where we will hae to serve God as ruler rather than men. If the courts told me I couldn't pray at work-do u honestly think I'd obey that law? Of course not. And as far as courts' ruling??...the California Supreme Court has ruled in FAVOR OF GAY MARRIAGE...PLEASE! Prayer should be an individual choice, not a choice that's been thrust upon us by the government.

--BreeIVENTBYBLOGGINGhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12038261551531183506noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19127699.post-23012747331222781192008-06-20T12:12:00.000-07:002008-06-20T12:12:00.000-07:00There are so many great ideas here, but your desir...There are so many great ideas here, but your desire to see prayer in public schools is puzzling. In any case, whether this is something we can promote in Detroit is a moot point--the Federal courts have consistently ruled public-school-sponsored prayer to be unconstitutional.Paulnoreply@blogger.com
